Ko Olina Resort\u00a0is a 642-acre (2.60\u00a0km2) master-planned vacation and residential community on the leeward coast of\u00a0Oahu, 17 miles (27\u00a0km) northwest of\u00a0Honolulu. Ko Olina has 2 miles (3.2\u00a0km) of coastal frontage and includes three natural and four man-made lagoons with white-sand beaches.<\/p>\n

It is home to four hotel and vacation-club resorts:\u00a0Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa; the Ihilani Resort & Spa,\u00a0Marriott\u2019s Ko Olina Beach Club, and The Four Seasons at Ko Olina, as well as several resort condominiums and villa homes.<\/p>\n

Major events hosted at Ko Olina Resort include the\u00a0LPGA Lotte Championship, the Ko Olina Children\u2019s Film & Music Festival, and the Hawaii Food & Wine Festival.<\/p>\n

Ko Olina is part of an original royal land division that extended from the waters off\u00a0Pearl Harbor\u00a0to the summit of the\u00a0Waianae Mountains. The area was a sacred place used for rest and relaxation by Hawaiian chiefs, like Kakuhihewa, and Hawaiian royalty. Kamehameha the Great\u00a0and his wife\u00a0Ka\u2019ahumanu\u00a0were frequent visitors, bathing in the protected water of its reef-sheltered coves, fishing, and participating in religious ceremonies. Hawaii\u2019s last monarch,\u00a0Lili\u2019uokalani, also came to Ko Olina for time away<\/p>\n
